Today is the birthday of two special children who never had the chance to be raised by my wife and I or spend their childhood with us, their sister and brother.
Kyle and Dakota both died due to a rare and unique congenital heart defect called Truncus Arteriosus.
Oddly, both Kyle and Dakota were born on the same day (August 16) six years apart. Kyle was still born in 1996 and Dakota, whose birthday was selected for a corrective experience, was born in 2002 and then sadly died seven weeks later after open-heart surgery could not correct the congenital heart defects associated with Truncus Arteriosus and her short yet beautiful life was cut way too short.
Happy Birthday Kyle and Dakota.
